What is Marquisette?
Marquisette is a wine and citrus-based cocktail from the Ardèche region. It is also very popular in the departments of Drome and Gard and is a must family and village celebrations. To prepare Marquisette for 6 persons, you will need:
– 75 cl of dry white wine
– 1 orange
– 1 lime
– 1 vanilla pod
– 10 cl of rum
– 75 cl of your favorite lemonade
– 200 g of cane sugar or 25cl of cane sugar syrup
Proceed in 2 steps.
The night before, mix the sugar or sugar syrup, white wine and rum. Peel citrus fruits and cut them into small cubes. Add the fruit mixture to the split vanilla pod. Set this mixture aside in the fridge overnight.
Before serving, pour the wine mixture into a punch bowl and add ice lemonade.
